Observation vs. Judgement

I challenge you. Observe, keep posting, make me laugh, but don't judge. I'm a bit extra sensitive as I am entrenched in a world where people (real, lovely people) are looking to make a major life change but are afraid of people judging them. I ask...I beg...be nice. We all have our shit. Not one of you reading this post can say that you can't be judged for one reason or another.

I'm not sure why we (as a human race) feel the need to make fun of one another. Does it make us feel better when we post about "the guy in neon pants and a muffin top" in Walmart? How about the slow person in the fast lane on the highway who shouldn't even be driving because they're too old, too foreign, too young, too WHATEVER? Maybe it's the tattooed freak at the gym, the odd girl at work, the guy who talks to himself at the library. Observations (and I've definitely had mine) are one thing, but judgment is another.

I find myself shaking my head at the public judgment of people, and social media has a lot to do with it. I guess it was just hidden when once upon a time you whispered behind someone's back, sent a hand written note to a classmate or talked on the phone with someone to share your thoughts....today we put all our thoughts (and judgment) out there for the world to see. There's no filter, no second thinking, no one challenging you...until all have seen it (literally). I'm not saying it's worse than it's been, it's just more "in your face".

I don't think most people realize how much their written word influences and effects people. I hope I do.
